About Chichester Directory

Chichester Directory is an independent local directory and guide for Chichester, West Sussex. We publish business listings ranked on real Google ratings, and plain-English local guides for people who live in, work in, or are moving to the Chichester area.

What we do

We maintain a directory of 29local businesses. Each listing is built from the business's public Google Maps listing (rating, review count, address, phone number and opening hours), and for food businesses we add the hygiene rating from the Food Standards Agency register where we can match it. Our local guides are written from official sources such as Chichester District Council, TfL and the NHS, and every guide links to the pages it is based on.

Editorial standards

Every best-of ranking uses the same rule: Google star rating first, review count to break ties. Places with fewer than 50 reviews are listed after the rest, and national chains are left out. Nobody can pay to be on a list or to move up it. Ratings change, so each page shows the date its figures were checked.

We do not fabricate listings, ratings or reviews. If a fact is not in the source, we leave it out. Featured listings and sponsored content are clearly labelled, and our rankings are independent of our commercial relationships.

Commercial model

Chichester Directory is free to use. Revenue comes from featured listings, category sponsorships, and sponsored editorial content — all clearly labelled. A disclosure appears at the footer of every page. Basic listings are free and are not influenced by commercial relationships.

Independence

Chichester Directory is an independent website. We are not affiliated with Chichester District Councilor any local business association.
