Electric Vehicle Charging in Chichester: Council Car Park Charge Points
Where the district council's 20 Connected Kerb charge points are in Chichester, Fishbourne and Bosham, how to use them and what the published tariff is.
How many council EV charge points are there?
Chichester District Council says on its electric vehicle charging points page that it has twenty electric vehicle charge points across many of its car parks, run with the operator Connected Kerb. The charge points are not all in the city: the council also lists them in coastal and market town car parks.
Where are they?
As published by the council, the locations and number of bays are:
- Chichester, East Pallant car park: 2 bays
- Chichester, Northgate car park: 2 bays
- Chichester, Avenue de Chartres car park: 4 bays
- Fishbourne, Freeland Close: 2 bays
- Bosham, Bosham Lane car park: 2 bays
- East Wittering, Northern Crescent car park: 2 bays
- Midhurst, North Street car park: 2 bays
- Petworth, Pound Street car park: 2 bays
- Selsey, East Street car park: 2 bays
The council's car parks page also lists electric vehicle bays against East Pallant, Avenue de Chartres, Northgate, Freeland Close and Bosham Lane, and it shows the Freeland Close site in Fishbourne as free parking at all times.
How do I use them?
The council says no registration is needed to see a charger's location and charge on the Connected Kerb network. To become a registered user, you download the Connected Kerb app from the Apple or Google Play store. The council also links to the Connected Kerb public charge point map.
What does charging cost?
As published on the council page at the time of writing (October 2026), Connected Kerb's standard tariff is £0.44 per kWh at night (midnight to 7am) and £0.54 per kWh in the day (7am to midnight). Tariffs are set by the operator and can change, so check in the app or on the council page.
Do I also pay for parking?
Yes. The council says that vehicles may only park in the charging bays while they are charging, and that customers should ensure payment for parking is made. The car park charges are separate from the electricity tariff. See our parking guide for how to pay with MiPermit, the machines or cash and card.
Who do I contact if a charger is not working?
The council says to contact Connected Kerb directly if you have a problem with a charge point. It gives a 24 hour helpline number of 0800 029 1696 and says non urgent enquiries can be sent by email to Connected Kerb, with the address on the council page.
Where else can I find chargers?
This guide covers only the charge points the council lists. For others, use a charge point map or the operator's own app. We have not listed private chargers, supermarket chargers or other networks, as we have not checked them against official sources.
